Well, we went through all our babies today and they have started to really grow! So, it's time to let some of our stock go. We have show quality, brood quality and pet quality bunnies. See our for sale page and email if you are looking for something not listed because we may have it here and just didnt get it on the list yet...
We had an exciting week with the arrival of some stock to work with our BEW program!! I have a new baby already and got another doe bred today. With the arrival of this stock plus some juniors that are growing, we may actually have some BEW's to show this year!! I can hardly wait to see a bunch of blue eyed babies in the boxes.
I am afraid life has kept me too busy to go to any shows these days... Hopefully things will settle down a bit now that summer is here. For now we are busily breeding and trying to get some cute little jerseys:)
Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather and having a great time at the summer shows!!
See you soon!

Well the babies arrived and are growing into cute little wooly puff balls! This is one of the five boys that we ended up with after all the does kindled on Valentine's Day. We were hoping for some does but I guess we just didn't get the right cards this time! Next time maybe we will get all does and even out the odds a bit!
This little rew buck is a son of Wild Meadow's King Arthur and he already has a little bit of attitude! He definitely didn't want to pose for my camera so this picture took a long time to get and still it is not a good one. These little guys sure can move fast!
He has a brother that is also REW as I bred this buck to one of my REW does. The doe is a larger doe but has great body and amazing head and ear so we will see how these boys turn out. Keep checking back and I will post pictures as they mature.
The other babies born that day were a broken blue buck, a black buck and a sable buck along with the two rew bucks. I am expecting a few more litters soon so hopefully I will get a few does this time around.
Spring is definitely here so hopefully everyone is getting nestboxes full of little ones! Have a great first week of Spring!!
At long last I have winter babies!! Of course it is already just about spring but it still counts as the air is still cold out there. I had three of four does kindle a few live ones each which I am thrilled to see.
I used the old trick of fostering for one mom that refuses to do the mothering thing correctly. I learned the hard way through her first litter. She pulled not a stitch of fur and put them all outside the box. I didn't make it in time to save them and decided it was time to change the way I allow her to kindle. I took a small dog kennel, covered the bottom with shavings and then a layer of fur. I put a nestbox in just incase she figured things out and brought her in the warm house the eve of her due date. Sure enough she did not pull any fur but the babies were warm and because I had them inside I checked on her every 30 mins or so to make sure I caught them in time. I had brought in another doe's nestbox for the night knowing they had already been fed. I immediately put the fostered babies in that nestbox so by morning they would have absorbed the smell of the nest and other kids. In doing this, it insures the mother won't reject the new babies and will accept them as her own. Luckily bunnies don't count their babies or it might blow this whole plan!
So the grand total for babies this round is 7 lucky ones! All born on Valentine's Day so I will have to think of names related to that holiday:) For now it looks like I have 2 rew or pointed, 2 broken, 2 black and 1 blue. The last three might be shaded but I won't be able to tell for a bit longer until I see the wool begin to grow in. They are just fuzzy little creatures now.
My daughter and I can't wait until they are old enough to hit the popcorn state of popping in and out of the nestbox. I will post pictures when they get there because that is certainly a very cute and entertaining time!
I have some more does due in the next few weeks so maybe I will have a bunny population explosion on my hands. We are still trying to determine our focus for color and it will depend on the babies we are producing at this point. I am excited to see how this first group matures and hopefully more babies on the way to choose from as well.
We hope your nestboxes are full of wonderful babies!!
